SURFING FOR SENIORS

“Surfing for Seniors” is an ensemble story about a group of older adults and their relationship with the internet, new technologies, and their quest to find love, express their sexuality, gain recognition, reconnect with loved ones, and regain their independence. Their relentless search to feel connected again draws them into a world from which they had long been excluded. For some, it offers new opportunities to reinvent themselves and rediscover a sense of belonging. Others fall prey to the traps of the digital age. The physical distances and personal circumstances that separate our characters are steeped in a deep sense of loneliness. Technology becomes their tool of resistance.

“Surfing for Seniors” invites us to reflect on our own relationship with aging – and that inevitable moment when we, too, may find ourselves in a world that has already left us behind.
