LA PIETÀ
A vast white sheet covers the glacier’s mass of ice, like a shroud laid over the body of a lost child. The cracking of the ice forms a requiem, summoning silent pilgrims to witness its final breath.
At the foot of the glacier stands a remote farmhouse — now empty, but once home to Flosi Björnsson and his eight siblings, who withdrew from the world in the early 20th century. They never married, never left their childhood home. Instead, they chose a life of devotion to the glacier, long before anyone spoke of its melting.
Among those drawn back is Ragnar Axelsson, who spent childhood summers on the farm and first encountered the glacier alongside Flosi’s family. Now a renowned photographer devoted to Artic’s vanishing ice, he returns to reopen the doors. Flosi’s voice echoes once more through the empty skeleton — like a litany, like a warning from a world slipping away.
